Privacy Policy

Overview

lyricspin is designed to be as privacy-respecting as possible. We do not require an account, do not track you across sessions, and do not sell your data. This policy explains what information is used to make the Service work.

Microphone Access

When you tap Listen, the app captures a short audio sample (up to 10 seconds) from your device microphone. This sample is sent directly to AudD (audd.io) for song identification. lyricspin does not store, log, or retain audio recordings. AudD's handling of audio data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Information We Use

Once a song is identified, lyricspin uses the song title, artist name, and album to fetch lyrics and attribution links. This information is sent to:

• LRCLib (lrclib.net) — to retrieve synchronized and plain-text lyrics
• Genius (genius.com) — to retrieve attribution links and artist thumbnails

No personal information is included in these requests — only song metadata.

Affiliate Links

When a song is identified, lyricspin displays affiliate links to SeatGeek (concert tickets) and Amazon (vinyl & merchandise). Clicking these links may set cookies on those platforms that allow them to attribute a purchase to lyricspin. We receive a commission if you make a purchase; you pay nothing extra. We do not receive information about your purchases.

Cookies and Local Storage

lyricspin does not set its own cookies or use local storage to track you. Third-party affiliate platforms (Amazon, SeatGeek) may set their own cookies when you follow links to their sites.

Server Logs

Like most web services, our hosting provider may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamp). These logs are used for security monitoring and are not linked to any personal identity.

Children's Privacy

lyricspin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
